Crane Beach Dune Trails

Hey everyone,

Sorry it's been so long since my last entry. I've been cheating on blogging with Pinterest, sewing and crafting! :-P Let me catch you up on the last few months. To start, we had a very mild winter- as the rest of you I'm sure! In fact, it wast the complete opposite of last winter. Last year I believe we had around 120" of snow and this year around 12"! What a difference, huh?!? Maybe next year we'll get one of these "typical" New England winters we've been hearing about! We shall see... :)

Here's a few shots of the little snow we got.

Hello down there! :)

Late January I was diagnosed with Gallbladder disease. Strange as it sounds, this was actually a huge relief for us! I had been suffering from these painful attacks for quite some time. They were running all these tests on my heart and we were afraid something really bad was happening to me. Well, the Gallbladder could easily be removed and life would go on. Though not ideal, we were so thankful it wasn't anything worse. The surgery went well and I'm healing great with minimal side effects. The best part- no more attacks. I'm well again! :) When you're in fear of your health it really does put things into perspective. I appreciate each and every day. I really have a wonderful life and I'm so very grateful.

Here are a few of the projects I'd been working on recently...

I <3 my machine!

Joshua and I have been dieting/ working out since mid March. Just recently we started Phase 1 of The South Beach Diet/workout program and although we miss bread and sugar we're doing well. We'll see our results come Tuesday! Fingers crossed!

One of our favorite forms of working out has been hiking so now that the weather is finally warming up we'll definitely be incorporating more into our routine. Yesterday we headed 40 mins south of us to the Crane Beach Dune Trails in Ipswich MA. We hiked the full trail which was about 3 miles each way through thick sand and steep hills. Let me tell you it was tough! But wow! What a great workout and such beautiful scenery! I sure am sore today... :-o

Driving through Ipswich- what a beautiful area! Love that everything is starting to get green again! :)

The map of the Dunes- we pushed ourselves to make it to the end! It wasn't easy but it was worth it!

Here we go...

Oy vey!
