Apples and Pumpkins

Hiya everyone. I'd like to start this blog by saying how much we LOVE New Hampshire! And especially how much we LOOOOVE Fall in New Hampshire! WOW. It is soooooooooo beautiful!! We knew it was going to be pretty but really it is stunning! Each day I find myself in complete and total awe. We can't wait for you to come visit and see it all for yourselves. :-)

Funny as it sounds I really look forward to my drive to work every day as it's just so gorgeous. Each day it's a little different... one tree has started to change it's color, another's gotten brighter and this one's leaves have started to fall. So the other day I grabbed my camera on my way out the door and just held it up taking shot after shot. Here's a little glimpse of a day in the life...

The Harvest of the apples is huge here!!! When the harvest comes everyone who's anyone goes apple picking and spends the next few weeks making apple everything. Pie, crisp, donuts - you name it! I love this. Along with the apple harvest comes the pumpkins! YAY!!! I'm so stoked for our future children to experience all this. A real pumpkin patch! You know where you go out and actually pick your pumpkin off the vine!? SOOOOO neat. My coworkers couldn't believe I've never actually done this. :)) We're def not in CA anymore...

In Londonderry NH... off to pick some apples/pumpkins! :)

Since before we even moved here I've been excited about a festival we have called The Pumpkin Festival. :) There are tons of Octoberfests to choose from here but this one is a bit different than all the others. When they say pumpkin festival they mean PUMPKINS!!!! :-) Everyone brings a pumpkin/'s and at dusk they have the lighting of the pumpkins. This started back in 91' in the historic town of Keene NH and has become a NH tradition. The first festival started with a small count of 600 pumpkins and last year's count was up to over 29,000 pumpkins! Soooooooo coooooool!!!! Of course every year they're trying to beat the last record.... well, we're still waiting on last nights count but check out the pics of our 1st experience of the Keene Pumpkin Festival. We had SO much fun!
