We are officially all moved in! My car arrived last week and every box is unpacked. Well... unpacked or unpacked then repacked into a storage bin. We went out and bought a bunch of bins to store everything we couldn't work into the apartment. Joshua did such a good job organizing the spare room so that he still has an area for an office. I was impressed! One wall is full of bins but there is still quite a bit of room in there. I'm debating on putting some kind of curtain up so we don't have to see it every time we walk in there... but we'll see. It's only a year! I went out and bought a few things to organize our closets and my jewelry. Our bedroom still needs a lot of work as we got rid of most of our furniture before the move. We planned on buying new bedroom furniture but until then we'll make the best of it. I'd like to get a painting to go above the couch... all the walls are so white and I love me some color. So I got my eye on something purty! Also need to get a rod to put our curtains up and the living room should be about complete. As for the kitchen...there's very little storage so I left a lot of stuff packed. I might like to get some kind of Island that I could use for storage, counter space when cooking as well as a dining area. Still thinking that one through. Ya know, it's a rental so you debate on how much money you should spend but then it is a year! I want us to be comfortable so we'll see.

Sooooo... news of the week. I GOT THE JOB!!!! I'm so excited... relieved ...and nervous! Nervous about doing something completely new and a tad scared about the long hrs and rotating shifts. But who knows? I could love it. I could hate it. Either way... I won't know until I try! Excited because it's a great opportunity and I think only good things can come from it. Relieved because we're making it here! Also fortunate to have found something so soon! I start training Sept. 7th. ...so a few more weeks of sleeping in and fooling around then back to the real world! We'd like to get some more exploring in before then so prob next week we'll make a couple of day trips. The White Mountains are on the top of our list.

We have to admit we do miss everyone! But then we knew that would be the case. It's going to be a big adjustment being away from all our family and friends. Misty told me Wyatt was asking for us last week... broke my heart! I love that boy to pieces and miss him so much! It's ok though. We're gonna do the skype thing and it's gonna be great. We'll adjust and when we visit we'll appreciate our time together that much more!
Let's see... our apartment smells like maple! WEIRD!!! We made maple bacon one morning and for days maple! The smell would not go away. So we bought candles, plug it in air fresheners and several oil lamps/oils to fix this madness. The smell finally went away until we decided to make bacon again and ... maple! Freakishly weird. I can cook fish, roast garlic or Rufus can blow one...the only smell that seems to stick is maple! Strange too... maple is NH's big thing. Ugh. New rule in the apartment: NO MAPLE. The smell is finally almost gone. Thank good ness!
New hair!
I got my hair done. I was sooo nervous to trust my hair with somebody new. My friend Kim has been doing my hair since I was 16... she was 18 and in cosmetology school. I never had anyone else do my hair and I was scared. So I did some research online and decided on this cute little day spa not too far from here. It was adorable...an old Victorian home with so much charm! Not sure if I love my hair though. I know, I'm impossible! But it's a little dark and I don't know just different. :-) I guess that's good...maybe I'm just a hair snob?! Maybe it's all in my head? I don't know. Still deciding if I'll be going back.
It had been a while since we had a good homecooked meal so I decided to cook up a nice bird and Joshua really wanted pie. There are so many neat ranches and farms around here where you can go pick your own fruit. We wanted to pick our own blueberries but it was too late so we just picked some up from Sunnycrest Farms along with a fresh blueberry pie. YUM-MY! We can't wait to go back and pick our own though. So fun! There are soooooo many neat things to see and do around here... lakes, state parks, shops, festivals, historical sites, etc. Lots of history! We're pretty excited to finally get out there and explore! The leaves will start changing next month! Can't freakin' wait. A real Fall! YAY!!!

Hiya everyone. Man, New England Summer weather is pretty unpredictable. First thing each morning we wake up and take a look outside to see what kind of day's ahead. Very different from the predictable sunny San Diego! More days than not are completley gorgeous- mid 70's. However, random rain sneaks up on us once or twice a week. Also random hot! Forecast predicts high 90's all this week. Then next week it'll drop down into the low 70's. So in the matter of 1 day it'll drop 20 degrees. Crazy!
